Registration for the Global Battle Union 2012 International Challenge begins March 15th.
Another exciting event is on the way in the
Global Battle Union! Take part in the 2012 International Challenge, a
tournament open to Pokémon Trainers around the world. Following last
year’s successful Autumn Friendly Tournament, the 2012 International
Challenge will give Trainers a chance to demonstrate their awesome
battling skills in
Pokémon Black Version and
Pokémon White Version.
With the additional participation of Japanese and Korean competitors,
the 2012 International Challenge will truly be a global event!
All you need to participate is a
Pokémon Trainer Club account and a copy of either game with its Game Sync ID registered at the
Pokémon Global Link. The top players will earn a special avatar for their Pokémon Global Link account to signify their success!
When creating your battle party, you can select from nearly every
Pokémon in the National Pokédex. Train hard and develop smart strategies
to reach the top of the tournament leaderboards! The rules for
selecting Pokémon and their moves match the rules for the Video Game
Championship Series, including the
recent changes regarding the Dark Void move.
The regulations for the 2012 International Challenge are almost
identical to the rules for the live Pokémon Video Game Championship
season. All battles are Double Battles, and the Wonder Launcher may not
be used. Each team will consist of four to six Pokémon stored in the
Battle Box, and before every battle, each player will pick four of those
to participate. Your Pokémon can be any level; however, Pokémon that
are higher than Level 50 will be set to Level 50 for the duration of the
battle (Pokémon at lower levels will not be affected). All known
Pokémon in the National Pokédex are eligible to battle, with the
following exceptions: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre,
Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione,
Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, and
Kyurem. Finally, the length of each battle is limited to 30 minutes, and
players will have 60 seconds to choose a move each turn.
All players will begin the tournament with the same Rating number. As
you win matches, your Rating will go up, and if you lose, your Rating
will go down. At the beginning of each battle, you’ll be paired with a
player who has a similar Rating. Play as many matches as you can to
increase your Rating. At the end of the tournament, you’ll be ranked
based on your final Rating!
